What does “Minor dents and scratches” mean?! I don’t understand how the conditions that these cars are in warrant a salvage title.
The cars with this damage description seem ok in the pictures, although far from perfect.

Is it really vandalism if it comes from the factory that way?

Maybe it was in an accident, declared totalled, somebody repaired it and then it didn’t pass a state inspection or something? There is also something going on with the odometer in the M5. Notice the “33,850 mi (NOT ACTUAL)”

I say it’s vandalism if it didn’t come from the factory that way.

The M5 having mileage issues probably means the computer was replaced probably theft recovery, the S2000 is definitely a theft recovery, and remember runs and drives does not mean road ready. Could be missing the entire emissions system.

Some cars sold at copart are previously damaged, repaired, and driven by the new owner for some time after the repair. They end up back on Copart due to the inherent difficulty selling a salvage title car and the price premium for “running and driving” copart cars without visible damage.
